The plant does not care what the drawing shows. It operates on the physics — on the behaviour of the fluid inside the line, the forces acting on the support, the thermal movement the nozzle must absorb, the vibration accumulating invisibly at the weld toe. These forces operate on every plant, on every line, whether the designer understood them or not.
Book I gave you the mindset. Book II gives you the physics — not the physics of a textbook, but the physics of the running plant, expressed through the equipment it serves and the failures that result when the routing does not give the physics what it needs.

The plant out there is operating right now within the boundaries that its designers created for it. Some of those boundaries are generous — the designers knew the physics and gave it ample room. Some are tight — the designers were under schedule pressure or lacked the knowledge or did not check the calculation. Some may be wrong — and the physics is operating against them right now, 83 cycles per second, one thermal cycle per startup, one milligram of wall per month.
Most of those will never produce a failure. The plant will be decommissioned before the physics reaches the boundary. But some of them will find the boundary. And when they do, they will cross it.
